Happy Mother's Day

You wouldn't be here without her. You are the person that you are because of her. Make her feel special today. She's the only one that you have.

This card was designed with her in mind. She's a little rough around the edges, like the sponged grooves on the wall in the background, but soft and beautiful like the butterfly. She's a little girly, like the glittery butterfly accent, and she's a bit crazy, like the background stamps on the wall.

I chose yellow for this one, but if you scroll down, you'll see it in pink and in purple as well. I also did an alternate in case you wanted to see it for a friend instead of your Mom.

Funny thing thing about this card. I designed it to use in my card class, which was the same day that the Stampin' Up! retirement list was published. Dontcha know that just about everything I used for this card is retiring! Stamp sets, embossing folder, even some of the ink colors and the doilies! If you really like this card, you should order the stamps now. They will only be available until May 26th to order.

In my opinion, there's something about Elegant Eggplant that makes a really nice Sympathy Card. I think it's my favorite purple color that Stampin' Up! offers.

This card came out better than I thought it would. It took a lot of trial and error to get it right. If you find yourself stuck with an idea in your head that you can't figure out how to get it on the paper, just keep trying. Walk away and come back and look at it from a different angle. There's no rush to get it right in 30 minutes.

I love the Awesomely Artistic stamp set and I used the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set for the sentiment. You can use the Awesomely Artistic stamp set for and type of card, but I wanted to try it out for a sympathy card, and I'm glad I did. I really love how this card came out.
