Happy Birthday Butterfly

Coloring and fussy cutting... not my favorite of the stamp techniques that are available for card-making. However, with the Beautiful Day stamp set and the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers, coloring on vellum is so easy!! Also, since this stamp outline is so thick, it's made perfect for fussy-cutting.
What is fussy-cutting you ask? It's when you cut out an image the old-fashioned way... with a pair of scissors.

I first stamped the image with Versamark and then heat embossed it using copper embossing powder. I then turned it over and colored in the image on the back side using the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I did this first, and then put it aside to allow for drying.

I then assembled the rest of the card before fussy-cutting out the butterfly. Doesn't it look like stained glass?

I hope you like this card. Please leave a comment below to let me know, or just to say "hi!"

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day, and Happy Stampin!

  3. No matter where you live you have probably celebrated your birthday in one way or another. Birthday parties mark another year gone; this can be exciting especially as we get old enough to drive or frightening as we get older and want to celebrate 29 again and again. In ancient times birthdays were a time when evil spirits could harm you so to protect yourself you had your family and friends around you their well wishes were a way of protecting you. best birthday decoration ideas at home
